The Team

The Team

Dave Pritt – a former teacher at Keswick and Dallam School (Milnthorpe), with a wealth of experience in working with young people in the outdoors. He is the Director of Adventure Peaks and has climbed extensively around the world including leading numerous expeditions to the summit of Everest. He gained his interest in the outdoors whist at school and likes to introduce young people to the outdoors!

Helen Edmonds – took over from Dave Pritt in the running of Dallam Community Education when he left to set up Adventure Peaks. She brings a good deal of experience in the organisation, safety issues and logistics involved in children’s outdoor activities.

Zac Poulton – came to Adventure Peaks and Adventure Youth after spending many years working for Outward Bound, Ullswater. He is now one of our logistics managers who also travels the world leading our expeditions alongside co-ordinating the Adventure Weeks!

Stu Peacock – summitted Everest twice. When he’s not at high altitude you often see him running across the fells or sitting in our office planning and organising our expeditions and activities.

Maddy White – deals with everything financial!

Our Aim

Adventure Families has developed to fill a real gap in the market; to provide high quality courses and activities for adults and children both in the UK and worldwide. Director Dave Pritt is building on the extensive knowledge and experience of his market-leading mountaineering company to extend this to the widest possible market.

As Dave says ‘This is an exciting new adventure for us and a natural development. Having worked with young people for the last 25 years I know the importance of ‘catching them young’ and encouraging them to explore and develop new skills in the outdoors in a safe and healthy environment. The benefits for families in spending special time together in the outdoors can not be beaten.’

Residential and non-residential courses, camping trips, river journeys, climbing, cycling, navigation, ghyll scrambling canoeing, kayaking and more will be offered in the shape of 3 to 5 day courses starting this summer. Adventure Families will also offer family expeditions and activities in France, Nepal and Morroco to name but a few. Watch this space – details coming soon for Summer 09 dates onwards.

Alongside this, Adventure Families recognizes the need to provide an outlet for high quality equipment and clothing. Our second shop in Ambleside now stocks a good range of outdoor clothing with prices which won’t break the bank designed for keeping kids warm and dry. Check out the pages of our website for further details.

If you require any further details on any of the above or would like an informal chat, please contact a member of the Adventure Families team on 015395 34008.
